Clementine is an uncommon third grader with a talent for art and getting into incredible fiascos. Her out of the ordinary but extremely well meaning ideas tend to land her in the principal’s office on a regular basis. Even though she is constantly being told to “pay attention,” Clementine’s perceptive and often hilarious observations prove she is an extraordinary eight-year-old with a gigantic heart. In this first book of the series, we are introduced to Clementine, her family, and her obsessive-compulsive best friend, Margaret. After “helpfully” cutting off all of Margaret’s hair due to a glue incident, Clementine must find a way to salvage their friendship. To make matters worse, Clementine is worried that her family is plotting to get rid her because of her troublemaking behavior! A great start to an extremely entertaining series.
